Why Coaching If You’re a Licensed Therapist?

While I’m trained and licensed as a therapist, coaching allows us to focus less on diagnosis or treatment plans and more on present-day patterns, personal responsibility, and meaningful change. Coaching is a collaborative, forward-focused space for people who are ready to look honestly at how they show up in relationships and take active steps toward living more authentically.

My clinical background still deeply informs my work—especially in understanding emotional patterns, attachment, and relationship dynamics—but coaching offers flexibility, clarity, and momentum for those who aren’t seeking therapy and aren’t in crisis, yet know something needs to shift.

Coaching services are not therapy and do not include diagnosis, treatment of mental health conditions, crisis support, or clinical record-keeping. Clients experiencing acute distress or in need of mental health treatment are encouraged to seek therapy or emergency services.

About Mackenzie Lewis, LMFT

Hi, I’m Mackenzie Lewis, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over 15 years of experience helping couples navigate the complexities of relationships. My passion is guiding individuals and couples toward deeper connections and authentic living, so they can thrive together and as individuals.

My Approach

I believe meaningful change happens when we slow down and look beneath the surface. Relationship struggles are rarely about just communication skills—they’re about unspoken needs, protective patterns, and emotions that haven’t had space to be understood.

My work blends a strong clinical foundation with a coaching-style focus on awareness, accountability, and emotional insight. Together, we’ll explore what keeps repeating in your relationships and work toward a connection that feels more honest, secure, and alive.

My Background

My career has included supporting military families, working with couples at all stages of their relationship, and leading teams as a clinical supervisor. These experiences have shaped a grounded, practical, and compassionate approach—one that honors both the emotional depth and real-life demands of relationships.

Why I Do This Work

When relationships feel strained, it affects everything. I do this work because I believe relationships can be places of growth rather than survival—and because understanding ourselves within them changes how we live, love, and show up.

Let’s Work Together
You don’t have to navigate this alone. Whether you’re hoping to reconnect, shift long-standing patterns, or explore what’s possible, I’m here to support that process.
